Welcome To Fifth Grade!

5th Grade Information

Take Home Folder–Your child will bring home a folder each evening with completed papers, notes, and homework that should be completed. Your child should be responsible for cleaning out the folder each evening. Any papers, homework, lunch money, etc. being brought to school, should also be put in this folder. Your child will be responsible for removing any items in the folder and turning them in each morning.

Homework – Homework plays a very important role in helping your child achieve success in school. You can help your child by showing that you believe homework is important and that you have high expectations. Your child will receive a weekly newsletter sheet each Monday. This sheet will contain their spelling words, homework, and important information. Please review the newsletter each week, initial it, and have your child return it on Friday. They will also receive a math Homelink each evening, which should be completed that evening and returned the next morning. If your child falls behind in class, they may have additional homework sent home.

Agenda–The agenda will be used as a communication tool for you, your child, and me. Any questions, comments, or concerns can be written in it. Your child should bring their agenda home each evening and return it to school each morning.

P.E. & Recess – Your child will have P.E. & recess each day. Please be sure they have tennis shoes to wear every day. They may keep a pair in their lockers at school. I also recommend that they bring a sweatshirt or jacket that can be left in their locker as it gets cold in our classroom at times.

Water Bottles – All students may bring water bottles to keep at their desk. They should be brought home on Fridays to be washed. Water bottles are a privilege that will be taken away if they are used inappropriately.

                                                                        Thanks!
