Announcements:
• Thank you to Shelby and her family for donating a book to our classroom library. Thank you to Maggie and her family for donating books to our class library and to every student. We really appreciate your generosity.
Academics:
• The genre of this week’s reading selection, Grandma’s Records, is realistic fiction. Review the vocabulary, strategy, and the questions on pages 192-208 before the test on Friday. The reading and spelling test will be Friday.
• Continue to do the addition and subtraction worksheet each evening. Time your child working the paper. Check his or her progress daily. Your child should get quicker each day.
• The last personal information test will be this Friday. We will periodically revisit these tests throughout the year.
• Remember to use CRISP writing when answering questions.
• Practice cursive at home. Cursive will be required on October 20th.
• See attached fluency paper. You can practice fluency with your child at home. Even though they may have read the story at school, practice improves fluency. Have your child practice reading the story several times. Time them for one minute. Mark errors. If they self correct, it is not considered an error. Count the words read correctly minus the errors. Most students will have a story sent home with them daily.
• OCTOBER AR ACHIEVER ASSIGNMENT-3 AR points by October 24th.
Upcoming Events:
