Reading Night at Girard Elementary

On October 2nd, Girard Elementary hosted a Reading Night. This evening was an informational meeting for parents, along with providing activities for children. Our teachers presented information to parents on Response to Intervention, along with giving ideas on how to help students with comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, phonemic awareness, and phonics.
While parents were learning about the wonderful things happening in our classrooms, students were able to listen to guest readers read to them. Mr. Kris Eldridge from the Girard Fire and Rescue, Mr. John Cherry from the Girard Police Department, and Mr. Jim Cherry from Cherry's IGA read books to the students. The evening was full of fun and laughter and we would like to thank all who participated.
